Our Student Council consists of many students accross the whole school, however we have just appointed 9 Student Ambassadors that represent Uplands around school and have important roles and duties, which we hope to develop. Some of these include being on duty at lunchtimes, meeting and greeting visitors to the school, writing up minutes from the school council meetings and letting students know what's going on.
The school council meet termly to discuss any class news they might have or anything they would like to happen that term. Different students attend from several classes and we share drinks, snacks and important news from their class and around the school. The council come up with great ideas and choices to help make the school better.
We are starting a break buddies and reading buddies system where students spent time in different class provisions, making new friends. We're also hoping to set up a couple of lunchtime clubs with the help of the ambassadors in the next few terms. When the ambassadors are representing the school they get to wear a special badge to show they are proud to be part of Uplands.
